Welcome — and thanks for wanting to join the conversation.
To keep discussions thoughtful, civil, and relatively spam-free, comments on this site are limited to registered users. Registration is free and only takes a minute.
Why registration is required
I use registration to:
- reduce spam and drive-by trolling
- encourage more thoughtful, accountable conversation
- protect readers’ time and attention
You don’t need a subscription, payment, or newsletter signup — just a basic account so the site knows who’s speaking.
How to register
- Click the Register link below.
- Enter your email address and choose a username.
- Check your email for a confirmation link or password.
- Log in and you’ll be able to comment on any post.

What your account does (and doesn’t) do
With a free “Subscriber” account, you can:
- comment on posts
- manage your profile (name & display name)
- optionally receive comment reply notifications if you choose
Your account does not give you:
- access to the WordPress dashboard
- the ability to create posts or pages
- any sort of paid subscription or billing relationship
It’s simply a key to participate in the conversation.
Privacy and email
Your email address is used only for:
- sending your login details
- verifying your identity
- optional comment notifications, if you enable them
It is not sold, shared, or added to a newsletter list automatically.
Having trouble?
If you run into issues registering or logging in:
- double-check the email address you entered
- look in your spam/junk folder for the confirmation email
- try resetting your password on the login page
If you’re still stuck, you can reach out via the site’s contact page and I’ll help you get set up.
Thanks for taking the extra step to register.
Thoughtful conversation is worth a little friction at the door.
